[angel song]
00:31
|
|||
many-eyed loved my many-eyed love
tell me did it burn
did it burn when you came
feather boa burlesque offensive
do you dance like that baby?
tell me do you dance?
did it hurt when you fell from heaven?

[goblin king song]
00:26
|
|||
mask up no one will recognize
the peach is poisoned
i post a picture decked out on instagram
glitter on high cheekbones
i want to make you up
i must have made you up
smash the windows— smash the walls—
no more masquerade
i want to smash it all.

[scoundrel song]
00:28
|
|||
desperate times baby desperate times
desperate times call for
this is a cry for this is a call for
there’s a call waiting for you
the poet picks up the phone
giovanni isn’t coming home
i don’t feel so good, ma.
i think i’ll stay in bed.

[fairy song]
00:28
|
|||
charlie brings me bones
i tie my hair back peer thru atlas & axis
so this is what i’m missing out on
moss grows over all the holes
a pressure turns to branching antlers
never cut my hair again my love
it’s okay.
st. peter told me so &
i sail home.

[pansy song]
00:38
|
|||
silk scarf so gentle wrapped around waist wrapped around wrist
the soft animal of my body loves what it loves
i do not have to walk on my knees
(i choose to)
you do not have to walk alone.
(you choose to)
this is my place in things.
tell me your despair & i will tell you mine.
i could die & decay in these hands.
the soft animal of my body loves what it loves.
***this poem is made largely of lines from mary oliver's poem, "wild geese." it is one of my favorite poems to this day, and though i wrote [pansy song] before she died, it only feels fitting that she is present here. mary, i hope you're resting easy wherever you are, and that you don't mind i ripped you off for a poem about a boy.***

[pink song]
00:28
|
|||
if you ride your bike at sunrise
go to the farmer’s market and buy a bouquet.
if you want the blinds closed
stay in bed with me a while.
if you write a poem
think of me and make it a pink poem.
if you go to the library, watch the light
& lie down where it’s brightest.
if you love, keep loving.
